MECHANICAL LAB
Our Mechanical Engineering Laboratory serves as a nexus of exploration and innovation where students delve into the fascinating world of mechanics, thermodynamics, and manufacturing processes. Equipped with cutting-edge machinery and tools, our lab provides a hands-on learning environment that nurtures creativity, problem-solving skills, and technical proficiency in mechanical engineering.
Facilities
- Machine Shop: Our lab features a fully-equipped machine shop with lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and other precision machining tools. Students learn machining techniques, such as turning, milling, and drilling, to fabricate components and prototypes for their projects.
- CAD/CAM Software: Students have access to computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software, including SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Mastercam. They learn how to design mechanical components, create 3D models, and generate toolpaths for CNC machining.
- Materials Testing Equipment: We have a range of materials testing equipment, such as hardness testers, tensile testing machines, and impact testers, for analyzing the mechanical properties of materials. Students conduct experiments to study material behavior under different loading conditions.
- Fluid Mechanics Setup: Our lab includes setups for studying fluid mechanics phenomena, such as flow visualization, pressure measurement, and friction losses. Students explore concepts like Bernoulli's principle, Reynolds number, and boundary layer theory through hands-on experiments.
- Thermal Systems: Thermal systems play a crucial role in mechanical engineering. Our lab is equipped with setups for studying heat transfer, thermodynamics, and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems. Students learn about heat exchangers, refrigeration cycles, and energy efficiency.
